There are three different ways in which to browse the Graphic Arts Exchange; either by using our advanced search interface and the search boxes on the left of every category display page, by drilling down through categories and subcategories until you find exactly what you are looking for, or a combination of both. The combination of drilling down through the available categories and then searching is the most effective manner in most instances. Simply click on a main category on the listings home page then select the best subcategory from the list on the left hand side of the screen. Continue to do this until you have reached the best subcategory, and then use the search box on the category display page to search only those items. Just be sure the box labeled 'Only in this category' is checked! |

One of the most effective features of the Graphic Arts Exchange is it's ability to allow you to go from a very large general list of items to a very specific type of listing quickly and easily. This 'Reverse Pyramid' style of browsing is accomplished by showing all listings in both the current category and all sub-categories beneath it, but none of the categories and sub-categories above it. This means that if you have selected a main category, such as Sheet Fed Presses, all sheet fed presses within our system will be shown on the first page along with a list on the left of sub-categories. To shorten the amount of listings shown, select one of those sub-categories, which will load only the listings that fit that criteria (In our Sheet Fed Presses example, this second category would be the number of color units) and continue selecting until you reach the end of your choices or find the best category (IE: 28 x 40 -- 29x41 >>> Heidelberg). And if there are still too many choices, you can always use the search box on the category display page. Just be sure the box labeled 'Only in this category' is checked and it will show you only those items in that category that fit your criteria. |

Very simply. Just go to the category that you are interested in and enter your criteria into the search box located on the left of the page. Make sure the box labeled 'Only in this category' is checked, and hit search. This will search and display only items in the current category (Which includes all listings from any sub-categories below the level you are searching at.) |
Of course! And it's very simple to do too. Just go to the category that you are interested in seeing (A page of search results works too!) and click on the button located right above the featured listings, labeled 'Click here to view Gallery Items!'. This will show any of the listings that are available in the gallery format and are located on that page. Keep in mind, though, that because the gallery is a value added feature for our dealers, not all listings are available in the gallery format. |
Again, of course you can! And from multiple places as well. The quickest way to do this is to go to any listing that was created by the dealer you are interested in. Scroll down the page to the part of the listing labeled 'Additional Options & Links' (Depending on the length of the description, this could far down the page) located right under the image viewing system. There are six buttons that allow you to see all listings by that particular dealer, all gallery listings by that dealer, and several other important pieces of information. Another option is to go to the dealer's profile and click on 'Equipment Listings' at the top of the page. |

While there is no official 'Equipment Wanted' listing service within the pages of the Graphic Arts Exchange, there are several ways in which you can let people know you are in the market for a piece of equipment or other item. The best and most effective way is to select several dealers from the dealer directory and call them or use the e-mail form in their profiles to contact them and explain what you need. Most dealers, even if they don't have something in inventory, are able to find almost any type of equipment available in the world. A second option, available only after you have contacted at least one dealer in the Graphic Arts Exchange network and given them a reasonable amount of time to respond, is to use our contact form and send your request directly to us. You must include your full name, your organization's name, a current phone number, the exact details of what you are looking for, the name of the network dealer you contacted, the date of that contact, and the end result (IE: They didn't respond, they couldn't find what you needed, Etc.). Because of our in-depth knowledge of the dealers within our network, we may know of one that specializes in what you need but slipped by you in your search through the directory. If so, we will pass your message along to them and allow them to contact you directly. Finally, if that still doesn't result in you finding the piece of equipment or other item you are interested in, the Graphic Arts Exchange periodically publishes a newsletter that is sent exclusively to all of the dealers within our network. For a nominal fee, we will include the details of your request in the next edition published. For more information on this option, please give us a call today at 1-800-864-6130. |

Possibly. Because the finance directory is a paid directory, meaning that for a company to be included that must pay a fee, it may not always contain information. That being said, we do have relationships with several financing organizations that deal in Graphic Arts Equipment and other related items. If you would like, you can send your information, including your name, your organization's name, your phone number, the amount needed, and the end use of the capital to us by using our contact from. We will then pass that information on, and allow them to contact you directly. |

The three main ways in which to contact a dealer about a listing with the Graphic Arts Exchange are:
The 'Make Offer' graphic next to the title of a listing denotes an item that the member dealer is accepting offers for directly through the Graphic Arts Exchange system. Within each listing showing this graphic there is a second contact form. This form, open to registered members of the Exchange, allows you to submit an offer online. 'Circle An Item' is another feature that is only open to registered members of the Graphic Arts Exchange. Registered users are able to click on this button, provide a distinctive name for their reference, and save a listing for latter viewing. In your account control panel, you will see a section labeled 'My Circled Items' where these listings are stored and are only a mouse click away at any time! |
Just click on the button at the top of the screen or under 'Additional Options and Links' towards the bottom of the page. This opens a screen where you enter your information, your associates information, and any message you might want to add. Just click on send and a link is sent to the address that you requested and you are returned to the listing you were viewing. And don't worry; not only do we show you exactly what is sent out before you send it, we in no way use the information entered for marketing purposes. |
At the top of every listing within the Graphic Arts Exchange detailed contact information is shown for the dealer who created that listing, including their phone number, address, and a link to their website. The only time a link would not be shown is if the dealer does not have a website, or their website is currently being updated and they have requested that the link be removed. Simply click on this link to open their site in a new window. Additionally, you can reach a dealer's website through their dealer profile if you would prefer. |

The Graphic Arts Exchange provides a free proprietary currency converter within each and every listing. Located to the right of the price is a button labeled 'Currency Converter'. Upon clicking on that button, a new window opens, checks to see if you have the latest version of Macromedia Flash installed on your computer (Required), and opens our converter. Please note that any and all numbers provided, while possibly based on current rates, are only estimates and not represented to be accurate in any way. |

The fact that the dealer's location is different than that of a piece of equipment could mean one of several things:
While the vast majority of equipment within the Exchange is sold by a dealer who owns the equipment, there are several instances where this may not be the case. For instance, the equipment may be being sold by a printer who has contracted with a broker to represent the item on their behalf. Or, the person selling the machine may be a broker who only represents equipment belonging to other people (both dealers and original owners), as opposed to a dealer who owns the machine and has a vested interest in it. While the majority of our Network members are dealers, we have allowed a select group of only the highest quality brokers to represent themselves within our site. And in every case there may be benefits to working with a broker over a dealer, just as there may be benefits to working with a dealer over a broker; it depends entirely on the amount of risk you want to assume and that particular situation. In either instance it is best to be sure you know all information about a piece of equipment before you make any offers or plans based thereon; no matter who you are buying it from! |
Of course we can. Because there are so many ways in which to log into your account, it's easy to forget that there is a login page with a field specifically for this situation. Click on the button on the top right hand side of the screen labeled 'Login' and enter your e-mail address into the text box labeled 'Forgot your password?' and hit enter. Our system will then send all of the information that you need to the e-mail address you have on file with us. |
If this is happening, we can be 99.9% sure that you are browsing the Exchange using an older version of Netscape Navigator or a similar browser. Because our advanced picture viewing interface uses some of today's leading technologies, it does not always work correctly in older browsers. It does, however, work perfectly in Internet Explorer, which almost every computer has installed. To solve this problem, return to this page using Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher, rather than Netscape Navigator. |

The Graphic Arts Exchange proprietary currency converter requires that you have the latest version of the Macromedia Flash player installed on your computer. When the pop-up window is loaded, it automatically detects whether you have this plug-in installed or not. It then directs you to the converter if you do or a different page if you do not. On the page that is loaded if you do not have the Flash player installed, there are two separate links; one to install the free Flash player (A good idea for much more than just this application - doing so will change the way you see the internet from now on!) and another to a separate organization's free converter if you do not wish to install the player. |

If nothing shows up when your associate clicks on the link that they received in their e-mail, chances are that the corresponding listing has been removed completely from our system. All listings with the Graphic Arts Exchange exist in one of four states:
While any listing in the first three states will be available to be viewed by the link in the e-mail that was sent, if it has been deleted it will not be viewable. In that instance the listing simply does not exist within our system any longer. To avoid this situation as much as possible, we do not automatically delete listings from our system until they have remained in a closed state for a minimum of 90 days, and it is suggested to our dealers that they wait at least a month after closing the listing before they delete it themselves. |
The vast majority of the time this is related to the listing that you have circled being deleted from our system. For more information on this, please click here and read the topic entitled "I sent an associate a listing, but when they click on the link, nothing shows up. What's the problem?". |

Click here and ask us!! Because we built the Graphic Arts Exchange from the ground up, we have an incredibly intimate understanding of how it works and how to use it. Unfortunately, that understanding means that in general we have a very hard time seeing what might cause our visitors a problem. What may make complete sense to us may in-fact be complete gibberish to everybody else! And unless you tell us, we will never know. So, please click here and ask us your question today. |
